The Carentan Leek (Allium porrum) is a widely appreciated vegetable belonging to the Alliaceae family along with onions and garlic. The plant itself has three main parts: long lanceolate leaves that are blue-green in color, a small elongated white bulb, and a root system.
The edible part is the stalk, which is white and elongated. To achieve longer, whiter, and tender stalks, earthing up is recommended. Leeks generally grow to about half a meter in height, with diameters ranging from 3 to 6 cm.
